Bursary Scheme

We created our VIM Health Bursary Scheme to further support those who need intensive rehabilitation but might not have access to it due to financial circumstances. This is a non for profit scheme where we provide rehabilitation services for individuals at cost.

How Does the VIM Health Bursary Scheme Work?

VIM Health assesses each application on an individual basis, and offers a rehab program at a reduced rate based on individual circumstances. In some circumstances this reduced rate can also be subsidised by one of our partner charities listed below.

We are actively seeking support from like minded charities who would be open to contributing to our grant scheme. For more information on this, please get in touch.

Terms and conditions

Rehabilitation sessions for Bursary recipients will be on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 9-11am and Tuesday or Thursday between 3-5pm, with no more than two recipients on at any one time. Equipment such as FES pads, hand splints and resistance bands are available at an additional cost. All sessions must be booked in one month blocks with a one week cancellation period.

The goal was to be able to walk independently, or walk with more confidence and the other goal was to be able to get up off the ground without any assistance. I feel really confident in saying that I was able to achieve both of these goals. I can feel the difference in my quads, my thighs, my hamstrings, all the muscles. I still have a lot of work to do, but this has helped me to understand that hard work, does actually pay off.

Since Visiting Vim Health, I have seen so much progress in my goals and established hope for what my future may look like. Vim Health have been a real game changer for my recovery and I’ve not found another service that compares! My ability to use Vim has been gratefully funded by the Ciao Foundation, removing the financial barriers associated with rehab, has also been a blessing that has further enhanced my rehab experience.

The Bursary scheme has been great. Last week for instance I went out with a friend, who’s quite tiny and she took me in her car, I don’t really need help transferring now, I’m quite confident to get out of the car and get back in on my own. She pushed me round the shops which gives me freedom.

"I started at Vim Health with some clear goals. One of which was to do be more mobile. I haven’t been able to walk for three years now since my accident. After 1 month of the intensive at Vim I start to take my first steps. Which felt amazing. I am now able to walk around the gym with a Zimmer frame independently. This outcome simply would not of happened if it wasn’t for the equipment, staff and level of intensity I received at Vim’

“The programme covered a lot of wheelchair skills. We started out practising how to curb hop in the gym using mats, then went outside to practice on the real thing. I learnt how to navigate different types of terrain, going off-road and I even learnt how to do wheelies on different surfaces. It’s been really helpful in building my confidence. I also learnt how to transfer to and from my car independently.”

I’ve been overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness that has gone into the setup at the clinic. The state-of-the-art equipment alongside regular gym equipment in a very pleasant setting. It all feels very welcoming and a good place to work on my goals. In terms of the team, I’ve been given a huge amount of concentration and attention. I thoroughly enjoyed completing my Intensive rehabilitation with VIM, and I now continue to make full use of the gym space and robotic equipment.
